Food has always been associated with good things. Besides being our sustenance, food is a sure tool to unite everyone from all walks of life and beliefs because few could say no to a good meal, cooked with love and care.
It is within this nurturing atmosphere that the children of the Hiichiikok Foundation experienced the generous meals by food truck Mango Box.
Even from afar, the vibrant yellow colours of the Mango Box is unmistakable besides being an appetising visual.
The food truck was crewed by Mr Danny and his team of volunteers, who were as jovial as they were helpful. The smell of grilled meat permeated the air and they were very soon dishing out chicken shops to the hungry children. Mango Box wouldn’t be complete without their delicious mango syrup, which did a great job slaking the thirsty crowd, especially in this sultry weather. It was more than a feasting session for the volunteers had a great bonding time with the children.
Beyond that, we could convincingly say that the children had a wonderful lesson on the fine art of western cuisine. Mr Danny’s generosity did not end there. Before it was time to bid us goodbye, he surprised us yet again with boxes of succulent mangoes. That is one sure way to remind us of the Mango Box long after our departure.
This fun-filled day is but one of the many enriching activities that the children indulge in on a weekly basis. For more information on the Hiichiikok Foundation, please go to: https://hiichiikokfoundation.com/
