At Hiichiikok Home for Children, we believe every child deserves the chance to dream big and achieve more. Recently, several of our young people have shown that with care, support, and determination, challenges can be turned into opportunities. Their hard work and achievements are an inspiration to us all.
Thanks to the dedication of our caretakers and the generosity of benefactors such as Tan Sri Clement Hii, these students have received full scholarships that allow them to pursue higher education. Here are their stories of perseverance and success.
Fong Boon Fatt – The Bioscience Prodigy
Boon Fatt achieved excellent results in his SPM with 9As and 1B. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Bioscience with Chemistry at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). With a near-perfect GPA of 3.94, he has consistently been on the Dean’s List. His studies are fully supported by a UTAR scholarship, recognising him as one of their outstanding students.
Fong Boon Siew – The Cyber Security Specialist
Boon Siew scored 3As and 4Bs in her SPM and is now pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) in Cyber Security. With 4As in her recent exams, she is excelling in this critical field. Her journey is made possible through a full scholarship from Tan Sri Clement.
Shanya A/P Savantharaja Naidu – The Future Psychologist
Shanya achieved 6As and 1B in her SPM and is now studying for a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours). With recent results of 3As and 2Bs, she is building a strong foundation for a career in mental health and counselling. Her studies are fully funded by Tan Sri Clement’s scholarship.
Tee Jun Kit – The IT Innovator
Jun Kit scored 6As and 2Bs in his SPM and completed his Foundation in Science at SEGi University with 3As and 1B. He is now pursuing a Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours) at SEGi University. His education is fully supported by a scholarship from Tan Sri Clement.
Wong Ji Kien – A Story of Perseverance
Ji Kien’s journey stands out for its perseverance. Having missed three years of secondary education before joining the Home, he overcame the odds through dedication and support. He achieved 2As and 3Bs in his SPM and is now pursuing a Foundation in Arts at SEGi University, with results of 1A, 2Bs and 1C. With a full scholarship from Tan Sri Clement, his success proves that it is never too late to change the course of your life.
These achievements show what can happen when children are given the right environment, encouragement, and opportunity. The guidance of our caretakers, together with the generosity of Tan Sri Clement, has opened doors that once seemed beyond reach.
At Hiichiikok Children’s Home, we celebrate not only the grades but also the courage, effort, and determination behind them. These students remind us that while challenges may shape the beginning of a story, hope and perseverance can change the ending.
