Literacy has always been the foundation of every successful child. At the Hiichiikok Foundation, this value has been inculcated into the children everyday at every opportunity.
Therefore, we jumped at the opportunity to bring them to the Majlis Pelancaran Buku Kanak-kanak Bertemakan Madani at the PWTC. Even better was the fact that the event was graced by the Prime Minister’s wife Dato’ Seri Wan Azizah Binti Dr Wan Ismail who is also the chairman of Kasih Malaysia.
It is indeed a blessing for the children to be exposed to such a high profile individual at a young age. They greeted her with big smiles and took turns receiving book vouchers from her.
To brighten the event, a towering bird in red mascot was introduced into the event, which served as a great figure to take photos with. Although the children of the Hiichiikok Foundation came out in droves, the caretakers had little trouble controlling the crowd.
This serves as a statement of how well trained and behaved the kids were.
Now that they were equipped with the book vouchers, they were off to the shelves to grab the books they fancied.
They emerged with their hands filled with the treasures that will nourish their minds. Generosity was the tone that day for every child received goody bags from Wan Azizah herself.
Every event, however, is never complete without a feast and the
Majlis Pelancaran Buku Kanak-kanak Bertemakan Madani by Kasih Malaysia did not disappoint. Due to the crowd, tables and chairs were not readily available and the children had to make do with the floor. However, the condition did not dampen their jovial mood.
