Christmas has always been a time of great joy and feasting. But let us be honest. An ideal life is one where every day is a blessing. At HiiChiiKok Foundation, the children had a series of celebrations building up to the climax which was Christmas itself.
From home visits, and carolling to partying, the spirit of Christmas was strong throughout the entire month of December. One such event was the Sprinkles & Joyful Day, organised by IKEA and held at IKEA Damansara, Petaling Jaya.
It is a celebration of coming together, cherishing loved ones and making lasting memories for the coming Christmas. 20 children and one staff member participated in the event.
They had ample opportunities to express their creativity that day. The event started out with them decorating their very own Ginger Heart cookies with coloured icing sugar, all sponsored by IKEA.
Rarely do we get to eat our artwork, but that is the case for the deserving children who were so meticulous in their efforts. Seated together in groups, it was all very messy but the wonderful kind. Laughter filled the air and the tables were littered with breadcrumbs.
Their busy hands are about to get busier. Once the Ginger Heart cookies had been prettied up, it was time to assemble the Advent Calendar. Those came in cardboard, requiring quite a degree of thought and patience to assemble.
But once the calendars were up, everyone could see that it was worth the trouble. Now the children can place their little candies into the folded cardboard slots to mark the approaching Christmas.
They say that Santa rewards the good kids with presents. So it comes as no surprise when the creative children of HiiChiiKok Foundation were later showered with gifts for their efforts.

圣诞节之前的所有欢愉和快乐
圣诞节一直是一个充满欢乐和盛宴的时光。但让我们坦诚相待。理想的生活是每一天都是一个祝福的生活。在HiiChiiKok基金会，孩子们经历了一系列的庆祝活动，最终达到了圣诞节的高潮。
从家访、颂歌到派对，整个十二月份都充满了圣诞的氛围。其中一个活动是由宜家组织的“洒落与欢愉之日”，在宜家Damansara，八打灵再也分店举办。
这是一个团聚、珍惜亲人并为即将到来的圣诞创造持久记忆的庆祝活动。有20名儿童和一名工作人员参与了这个活动。
他们在那一天有充分的机会表达他们的创造力。活动以他们用宜家赞助的有色糖霜装饰他们自己的姜饼心曲奇开始。
我们很少有机会吃我们的艺术品，但对于那些如此细致入微的孩子来说，这是一个例外。他们坐在一起，一切都很混乱但美好。笑声充满了空气，桌子上布满了面包屑。
他们忙碌的双手即将更加繁忙。姜饼心曲奇一旦装饰好，就到了组装降临节日历的时候。这些日历是用硬纸板制成的，需要一定的思考和耐心来组装。
但一旦日历挂起来，每个人都能看到这样的付出是值得的。现在孩子们可以把小糖果放进折叠的纸板槽中，标记着圣诞节的临近。
他们说圣诞老人会用礼物奖励好孩子。所以当HiiChiiKok基金会的富有创造力的孩子们后来因为他们的努力而被淋漓尽致地赠予礼物时，这一点也不奇怪。
