For most people, movie day probably involves some tickets, a bag full of popcorn and of course, the cinemas. But for the children of the Hiichiikok Foundation, movie day takes on a new dimension, thanks to the Lions Club of Agape Star KL.

It was a veritable carnival at the event, with the many colorful bumper cars lined up, hoop ring game, and more. The children had their hand-and-eye coordination tested with the miniature badminton game where they were required to hit shuttlecocks into small green cups. Sounds easy, but it is harder than it looks.

On to the bumper cars, it was a symphony of light, music and laughter with the children zooming about and occasionally bumping each other. Games were won, and presents were given out. Everyone was a winner that day.

Despite the promise of fun and excitement, the children did not jostle and fight each other, instead making an orderly beeline to the many game stations there. This civility is reflected in the discipline they received back home, not forgetting the many character-building activities they participated in on a monthly basis.

Not only that, the children and staff were given free eye tests and glasses were also distributed for those who needed it. The event climaxed with the children being ushered into the Amerin Cineplex to watch Willy Wonka.

They did not enter empty handed either for popcorn and mineral water were quickly handed out. Even the choice of movie was purposeful, since Willy Wonka is steeped in moral values that the children could certainly learn from.

This fun-filled day is but one of the many enriching activities that the children indulge in on a weekly basis. For more information on the Hiichiikok Foundation, please go to: https://hiichiikokfoundation.com/
