Home receives Hong Kong visitors

Some 30-odd students from the United Christian College in Kowloon East, Hong Kong visited the Home recently. The group was on a holiday in Malaysia and decided to take time off to spend time with the less fortunate as part of their corporate social responsibility initiative.

They spent half-a-day with the kids after finding out about the Home via the Internet. For the children, who rarely received overseas visitors, it was an opportunity to get first-hand information about other countries.

The visitors played games with the children, taught the kids how to fold origami, ate local specialities like nasi lemak and even tried their hand at making teh tarik. They also shared with the children life back in Hong Kong and this helped enhance the kids’ worldview.
